    3. I have just been re reading my husband's family history to verify his JOHNSTONE connection. He is a descendent of George Johnstone of Galabank Provost of Annan who died in1648 Is anyone researching this family ?????????? The said George married an Agnes GRAHAM Their daughter BARBARA JOHNSTONE married LANCELOT CARLISLE in Dumfries on 24 January 1648 I am also descended from a Johnstone family ! Alison in Calgary

    3. Hi Alison: I do not know if it would help but I have the Monument Inscriptions for Middlebie Parish which includes Carruthers, Middlebie Church and Pennersaughs Burial Grounds. There are many Johnston(e), Carlyle, Graham(e) buried there: Johnston(e) 49 Carlyle 43 Graham(e) 23 There is also a mention of an Agnes Graham widow of William Bell of Blankethouse in the 1631 Sasines. If you think any of these would help I will send them as attachments to a message. By the way, deCaen is a rather interesting name, being the name of the town where William the Conqueror had his home (castle). I was there a year ago.
