Audrey, Adding to Jeanette's reply, there is a group of residences at Palmersgill Bridge currently located about 3 miles SE of Middlebie and about 1 mile E of Eaglesfield. They are in Middlebie parish. Go to _www.streetmap.co.uk_ (http://www.streetmap.co.uk) and type in Eaglesfield as the Place Name. Although the area is not labeled on the online map (but is labeled on my OS Pathfinder map) it is the group of houses due north of the "U" shaped bend in the Kirtle Water. They are just west of Burnfoot at the hump in th road. The old Victorian map also shows this area as Palmersgill as of 1862. Go to _www.old-maps.co.uk/_ (http://www.old-maps.co.uk/) and type in Eaglesfield as the GB placename and go east a bit. The image is dark and hard to read in that area, so zoom in and be patient! I can send you a scanned version of the current map that shows the buildings. Please contact me off-list.
