Greetings! In the course of comparing notes (outside the Dumfries Galloway List) on the Mortons of Canonbie, who apparently farmed in the parish of Kirkandrews-upon-Esk, it's been suggested to me that a lot of the Kirkandrews parishioners in the 1700s preferred at that time to use Canonbie for baptisms etc. Did I know why? I've not a clue, other than to comment that one is in England and the other in Scotland. Has anybody any suggestions? - or is it a myth? Ken (Liverpool)
