Halo All In 1858 the GIPSEY arrived in South Africa with a number of the Aided Immigration passengers on board - one of these passengers was Samuel SCOTT - presumed to be the Samuel who married Susanna Maria (later Susan Marion) Mc Donald in Zeerust, South Africa in 1878. It is because of this union that I am "alive and well and living in Mogale City in South Africa" ! I am still trying to confirm that this Samuel is the one who was christened on 5 Feb 1929 in Urr in Scotland (from Robert Scott and Elizabeth McGeorge), lived at High Ryes, Southwick, Scotland in 1841 and worked as an Agricultural Labourer in Holywood, Scotland in 1851. Also whether he was the man who married my GGgrandmother in Zeerust, South Africa in 1878 I am also trying to find out as much as I can about this Ship GIPSEY and the passenger on board - including finding a drawing or sketch of the Ship.
