Hi all, Now that I know I will be spending time in Dumfries and surrounding area, albeit probably not enough by far, I am noticing things that I need, but lack. One is local maps of large enough scale to show farms, both current and those in existence around 1780 - 1830. Could someone (or two or three) please recommend what maps I would need to get that would show the following: (The maps could be from anytime within the years given) 1. Dumfries c. 1800-1830 2. Kirkpatrick-Durham c. 1780 - 1830 3. Kirkpatrick-Irongray - 1780 - 1830 4. Old Bridge of Urr - 1780 - 1830 5. Castle Douglas - c. 1800 - 1850 6. Dalbeattie - 1800 - 1850 7.Also, you may have these, John - a current large-scale Ordnance Survey map of Kirkpatrick-Durham and surrounding area, and a current one for Castle Douglas and Kelton and their surrounding areas. I will look online in the meantime, and see what I can order in advance.
