Hello :-) Would like to re-state my geneaological interest in the New Galloway area. Family name is GARRAWAY/GARROWAY namely James, his Irish wife Margaret Wylie, and their children who sailed for New York in 1855. James was a tailor by trade. The 1851 census reveals that he was born in England, and given the names of his children and the time in which he was born, I believe him to be a descendant of an Alexander Garraway who married Sarah Maccaddam in Kirkcudbright in 1778, later migrating to Whitehaven England -- where I am thinking James was born. Any one researching the same family... I'm ready and waiting :-)!!! Amanda
