Welcome Dilys, You'll love this list, everyone is so helpful and a wealth of knowledge. The 1851 census is on line at www.dumgal.gov uk/services/depts/comres/library/census_search.asp Check it out, type Irving in surname and in the household box - 6/122 , parish - Annan All these Irvings were born in Kirkpatrick Fleming. Household 1/18 also has Irvings who were born there, wouldn't be surprised if they are related somehow. The 1861 census microfilm for the parish you require can be ordered from any LDS family history centre, for viewing, it costs $6.00 here in Oz, and you can view it for a month, before it needs to be returned. The 1841 census for either Annan or Kirkpatrick Fleming, should be available in booklet form, it can be ordered from Dumfries-Galloway Family History Society visit their website for order forms, it is not exorborent cost either, only a couple of pounds per book. Good luck! Fiona Down Under Researching Kennedy and Cowan in Dumfries
