Alternatively would I find any Death Notices in publications of those years ? I would like to establish whether the two brothers were married and whether they had any children. Andrew will not have a death certificate because SR in Scotland didn't start till 1855. Robert may have a death cert because SR started in England in mid 1837............... however English death certificates give very little information compared to Scottish SR ones..and definitely do not give you the names of the parents of the deceased. Not all deaths were registered in England even after SR began. But Robert should appear in a burial register ..the english were more diligent in keeping those. Which parish is Glencaple Quay in?.
