Hello Christine, I have looked thru both volumes of A Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants To Canada Before Confederation,1867, by Whyte, There is one ONE Burke Listed. Page 31 #871 BURKE, Edward ca 1777-Jan. 1839. To Halifax, NS and died there. (That's all there is) NO mention of wife or children) As for David McKay, and his Father Angus, there are about 15 Angus McKays, and it is not possible to 'pin down' which one he would be. Also looked for David McKay. With these names, I need more details. Do you have a wife's name? That would help. Also if they emigrated after 1867, it would not be in these books.
