Hi today I received a birth cert I had hoped it would give me the name of a street but once again its given me nothing to go on the birth was for my dads cousin I thought it would lead me to my great grandmother on the cert for place of birth it just says Greenbrae loaning Greenbrae I asked about this place when I first found it but why does the cert not give the street name as other cert do the cert is for a birth in 1886 Audrey

Hi Audrey, In this context 'loaning' almost certainly means lane. Probably an unsurfaced and therefore 'green' lane. I'm not familiar with area of Greenbrae and unfortunately your note doesn't give me enough information to find it, but I would take a look at 'old-maps' and you'll probably find it's marked.
