This is my first try at a Scottish List. I have recently received a document stating that my great-great -grandfather was born in Galloway later immigrated to New York in 1774. Parents names are John White and Barbara Stewart. He was adopted by a Lady Agnew (could be Agnes) Her son Nathaniel is also mentioned. Can any one tell me where to start looking for information.
