    3. Any lister aware of Ketting, Bute ? I have an 1871 Ayr census entry give wife's birthplace as Ketting, Bute. Not found in UK Map book, Genuki Parishes or Ordinance Gazetteer for Scotland. Any advice appreciated. Les H., Napier, NZ.

    3. Hi Les The only names I recall from Bute which begin with a K are: Kilchattan, Kerrycroy and Kingarth.     3. Hi All, in my book, "The Making of Scotland" by Robin Smith is a comprehensive guide to the growth of Scotland's Cities, Towns and Villages. There is no mention of a village called Ketting. Regards, Sandy (Tasmania)
