I'm going to bet that it is in fact Rothesay. Just in case anyone thinks I have gone completely mad, I found the family in 1851 and 1861 (in Kilmarnock) where Elizabeth's POB is down as Rethury and Rothesay. Elizabeths age dots around a bit but I think its the same family. there is also a James Kenyon born 1809 who moves to Ayrshire from Bute and seems to come from Rothesay too, Now the pen test. try an ornate 19thc R beginning with a pronounced downstroke before the loop - easily mistaken for K. Then the TH interpreted as double T, followed by some scribbled lower case letters and ending in the y - easy to mix up with g. So whilst it might seem really extreme to suggest that Rothesay could end up as Ketting, its quite feasible, especially with Ancestry's rather sloppy transcriptions.
