Have just checked the Times online and there isnt much on Allison's Bank, but what there is suggests it was indeed in Gretna Parish and also that marriages were conducted in the Tollhouse. There was a court case in 1910 referring to one of these marriages, in 1851, and it was stated that there still existed 15 books which had been kept at the Tollhouse by the Murray family, and that the books contained details of 8,000 marriages.
