Hi, I am new to this list and this is probably a tall order but I was hoping to find a male CAMPBELL person, working in Thornhill 1871. This is the story. I have some letters dated from 1871 to 1884. The letters are not complete but in the 1871 letter my John Campbell who was living in Kilmarnock at the time talked about someone ,siblings of his then housekeeper Agnes Campbell who he married in 1872. This person was working for himself in Thornhill and doing very well. His name could be John b 1837 at Irvine , Ayrshire, because my John states that Matthew b 1832 isn't doing as well. Also this person has three children at this point. No names mentioned, Annie, one of Agnes' sisters was married to a William Graham, and Maggie married David Millar.....I have a cousin in the USA descended from this family.
