    3. This all sounds very promising. Yes, I am working on John Dixon and Jean Little of "Nullyholm", Canonbie. Especially their daughter Isabella who I believe is the unnamed daughter born in 1768, who I believe married James Stothart. Their daughter Jean Stodart married Robert Scott, and their daughter, Isabella Scott married James Edgar, whew! That gets me to my closest ancestors in Dumfriesshire who are the Edgars from Moffat. (Wilson is my married name). Perhaps you can straighten me out if Isabella Dixon is not the daughter of John and Jean Little. (I noted twins Isabel and James born in 1767 and assumed that they did not survive. Hence, the next daughter born in 1768 would be given the name of Isabel and the next son born in 1771 was named James.) annewilson@cfl.rr.com -----Original Message----- From: dumfries-galloway-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:dumfries-galloway-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of dumfries-galloway-request@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, October 16, 2010 3:02 AM To: dumfries-galloway@rootsweb.com Subject: DUMFRIES-GALLOWAY Digest, Vol 5, Issue 122 Today's Topics: 1. It was on the old line of the A7 about 3 km north of Canonbie. It is on the first series OS 1:10,560 maps but is not on the current 1:25,000. If you go to Bing.com (UK site), select Maps then Road/Ordnance Survey, search for Canonbie. About 2.5 km north of Canonbie along the A7 is Enthorn. Nittyholm was 300m due north of Enthorn. I have Dixon and Little ancestors born at Nittyholm, and my grandmother was a Wilson from Langholm. If this is the farm, do we have any common links ? On Bing again, if you go to Langholm, work north along the A7 about 9 km until you see Mosspebble Farm to the east of the A7. If you zoom in, you will find that the wood to the west of the A7 here is named Bankend Wood, after the disappeared building.
