I have this from the University of Glasgow's Dumfries campus: "We would like to draw your attention to the University of Glasgow's School of Interdisciplinary Studies' series of lectures in New Galloway, at the CatStrand this winter, 'Exploring Galloway through History and Literature'. There are three lectures still to come--Lizanne Henderson on 'Witches and Charmers of Galloway' on the 23rd of November at 7 pm; Tom Pow on 'Thomas Watling, Dumfries Convict Artist' on the 30th of November at 2 pm, and Margaret Elphinstone on 'Fictional Galloway' on 7th December at 2 pm. Lectures cost £8 at the door but if you are planning to attend, please contact Phillipa McNeill on [email protected] We hope that you will enjoy attending these, along with others within our events' programme (which is accessible on-line at http://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/interdisciplinary/) and please feel free to pass on this information to your friends and colleagues."
