According to the birth records I obtained on Scotland's People my g'mother, Mary Campbell Mcdonald was born 17 Apr 1898 at Whitehill Cottages in the parish of Hoddam, County of Dumfries; recorded 4 May 1898 in Ecclefechan. On the 1901 census she is recorded at the home of her g'parents, James and Sarah Smith Campbell in Mouswald but her sister (Isabella b: 1899) is recorded as Hoddam. I am assuming that my g'mother was visiting her g'parents at the time of the census. David, if this sounds to you as if my family was, indeed, at the same Whitehill Cottages as your g'g'father, I would love to have a photo. Thanks much to all, again.
