Hello Listers, "My" Margaret Bell THOMSON (born about 1830 in Dryfesdale) married Andrew Graham JOHNSTONE (born about 1826 in Hutton and Corrie) on 25 Jun 1857 in Lockerbie, Scotland. Some censuses show his name with an "e" and some without. 1871 Census, High St, Dryfesdale Andrew Johnston, Head, 46, Grocer, bHutton, Dumfriesshire has David I Johnston 43 (Brother) and William Johnston 22 (Nephew) both Teachers from Canada and both born Lockerbie staying with him. Andrew and Margaret don't seem to have had children. The name Johnstone also appears as a Christian name in Mungo Johnstone Martin BELL, born 18 Feb 1833 in Dryfesdale, a son of my direct ancestors Francis BELL and Jean/Jane MARTIN. I am trying to find the parents of Francis. Contenders are John BELL and Mary JOHNSTONE, who had a son Francis on 1 July 1788 in Canonbie. Can anyone help me with this, please.
