I have David Marchbank a farmer who died in 1843 in Kirkpatrick Juxta parish (born circa 1770) married to Jean Johnstone born circa 1772. At his death he held two farms worked by his sons Thomas at Beattock Farm & David at Woodfoot Farm. David had previously been a tenant farmer At Sandbed (1805) and then Holm (1807) 1 mile south of Moffat where he farmed 130 acres. Thomas Marchbank also at Holm at the same time, married to Elizabeth Johnston. 2 brothers married to 2 sisters? Currently I have no parents for these individuals nor a marriage place/date for David and Jean Regards Peter Henderson -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Judy Jeffrey Sent: 16 December 2011 17:34 To: 'Roland & Alison deCaen'; [email protected] Subject: Re: [DUMFRIES-GALLOWAY] JOHNSTONE <Is anyone researching the Johnstone family from Moffatt circa early 1800s late 1700s> Alison Hi Alison, Although my Johnstones are a little earlier I shall tell you who I am researching as there may be others out there researching the same.
