    3. Hi Mary, Capelgill Farm is definitely still there, there is row of cottages nearby but I couldn't say which one is actually your shepherds cottage. I have walked the hills in that area many times.  I probably have numerous photographs of the farm taken from the roadside  where we park and the hills around.  I'll look out some if you would like to have them. I used to have a website showing the farm.   In the meantime have a look at a page from my walking pals website http://www.walkscotland.plus.com/Borders/pages/sadlY1a.htm  The map shows the location of the farm and below the map there is small photo looking down on the farm from the hill Saddle Yoke taken during one of our many ascents.  hope to go back their and walk up Blackhope below Hartfell -- not fit enough to scale Saddle Yoke these days. Cheers, Sandy ________________________________ From: mary amelia paladin <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, 17 April, 2011 21:35:10 Subject: [DUMFRIES-GALLOWAY] Capplegill Shepard's House? While having an absolutely wonderful time with the 1911 census I discovered some of my ancestors, the Elliot/Mcdonald family living at Capplegill Shepard's House in Moffat. Can anyone tell me if it, or the farm to which it belonged, is still in existence?
