Hi James Apologies I thought I had sent you the charts that show the connection between us. John CARRUTHERS (of Guileburn) born circa. 1721 died circa. 1810 had two wives (1) Jean JOHSTON b. circa. 1730 (Your 4th x G/Grandmother) (2) Mrs. Unknown Unknown (My 4th x G/Grandmother) Married abt. 1743? We are connected by our mutual 4th G/Grandfather John above. That's if I've done my sums correctly. Hope this answers your question let me know if you need further clarification. Additional Notes on Johns father William CARRUTHERS : Had Sasaine of Guillyburn (Kirkmahoe?) : East side of the watermilk 14 acres + Middleshaw park 8 acres North of Middleshaw farm St Mungo. There is conjecture as to where Guillyburn farm is situated and I stand corrected: I believe it is just above Duncow Village, in the heart of Kirkmahoe, Dumfriesshire. Just to the East of the Duncow River. Some say it is/was in St Mungo. Will be interested in anyone else's direction on this. The 1841 census reffers to Guillyburn, Kirkmahoe. Have failed to track down an early farm map of the area. Stay well Rgds Ian Carruthers
