There never seems to be any mention of "my" Johnstones who apparently hailed from Kirkmichael. My ancestors were David Johnstone (b. 1765), whose daughter Elizabeth (b. 1791) married John Burgess (b.1789). Elizabeth and J. Burgess came to the US around 1825.
