Caught my attention as I have grandparents and uncles that lived all around this area. Old Clouden is at 882770 on Landranger Map number 84. Take A75 west from Dumfries. Turn right on the junction sign posted Shawhead. Continuing north on the main road you cross Old (Clouden) Water and in less than one mile turn right at the junction with a road . Old Clouden is the hillside on the track of the path where burial processions used to carry people across to Irongray Kirkyard. I have driven through here several times, will check if I have a photo's that may have captured the farm. What surnames are you hunting as they are likely in Irongray Kirkyard, like mine.
