Hi Christine, I wonder if it may be Howcleuch or Howcleugh, or another older spelling? You can find it toward the bottom of the map at: http://maps.nls.uk/os/6inch/view/?sid=74426682 You will need to zoom in (by double-clicking) on a point about mid way between the N of St MUNGO (the parish indication) and the bottom of the map.
