As a result of Cliff Johnston's posting concerning his ancestor William Johnston of Lochmaben, I'm interested in learning more about: William's mother: Isabell Burnet Johnston of Mooshall Parish of Nithsdale, SCOTLAND. Isabell's brother Robert Burnet and a sister Mrs. Jane Burnet Craik wife of William Craik of Mooshall. For years I've been trying to find ancestors or relatives of my great (x 8) grandfather Robert Burnet born. 1759 Warmanbie, Annan. Maybe there's a connection here ? I can't find any record of Mooshall parish, Nithsdale anywhere or marked on any old maps. Can anyone suggest where this parish was or advise if they are researching this Burnet family ?
