Hi I've just found my 5xgt grandparents in the D&G FHS book of Torthorwald burials. My 4xgt grandmother was Janet Wightman who married Samuel Grierson and went to live in Priestside Farm in Ruthwell. I always suspected she was the daughter of Matthew Wightman and the burial entry has confirmed it ...it says he was a native of Torthorwald but went over to Priestside the previous Whitsunday. The book has also given me the name of Matthew's wife ...presumably Janet's mother.... Janet Walker who died two years after Matthew and she too died at Priestside ...but was buried in Torthorwald. Anyone else trace back to Matthew and Janet? Irene
