Janet McKAY or DALE who died 1886 is not in the filmed years for Wigtownshire, so I looked for others. The 1888 one was also out, but the 1855 Death of Janet at age 7 is one I could get. Here are details from the Civil Registration..... Wigtown Deaths, 1855, entry #163 Janet DALE, 6y 9m old, had lived in Dumfries her entire life, daughter of John DALE, Stocking Maker and Janet McKAY, died May 13, 1855 at 11:30am at Watts Close off High Street, Dumfriesshire of Scarletina Dropsy, duration 10d. Certified by A Mercer [or Amercer, hard to read if 1 word or 2] ADAM, Physician, who saw her May 29th. Buried St. Mary's Churchyard certified by John Gallacher, Sexton. Informant was John DALE, Father, who signed the registration. Registered 31 May at Dumfries by John Landers, Registrar.
