    3. Thankyou everyone who answered me! Very much appreciated. Some good suggestions that I'll have 'fun' getting into. Could I please be a pain and ask if anyone has come across James Robb born @ 1732, married ?????Tait, in their pre-1855 monumental inscriptions? If so, could you please tell me which one so we can purchase it? Thanks heaps... have a wonderful day! Leeona

    1. Census double entry
    2. Jeffery K. Davidson
    3. Hello all, I have found in the 1841 Census what might be a double entry for one person. Janat Carruthers (40) and Janat Gibson (40) both live at the same address. I have reason to believe that Janat Carruthers was married to a Mr. Gibson before she married John Carruthers. Mr. Gibson seems to have passed away or was other wise out of the picture by 1827 though. Would the census taker have put her in twice for this reason? Or is it more likely that there were two Janats the same age at the same address? Jeffery Davidson Calgary, Canada

    3. Hi everyone! I'm just wondering if someone could please tell me what are the best ways to find out information about someone in the 1800's. We have names but have no information on who the people actually were, i.e.: where they worked etc . Try as I might I haven't been able to find any information within the places I've looked. Hopefully this doesn't sound too silly, I would really be grateful for any suggestions. Have a wonderful day! Leeona

    3. it really depends what you mean by the "1800s". Do you mean the first decade of the 19thC (tricky) or the entire century (not too hard especially if they were socially ambitious). 3. Sandy, I was interested to see the listing of the one for Tundergarth. But before I decide to order one, can you tell me if it is likely to help me with my ancestor William GRAHAM born there c1756-1760? I understand all the records prior to 1791 are lost. He left Scotland and joined the Royal Artillery in 1780 and was discharged at Woolwich Kent in 1810. Whereabouts unknown after that but according to his papers died in 1832. 2. Pam Fallon-Cousins
    3. Hi All, Begging for help again! I am trying to break the most stubborn of walls down. My Captain John Scott who I have no birth or death records for he only appears in person on the 1841 census and he died between 1851 and 1861. He was associated with the Tyrall ship/boat as per a marriage posting in a newspaper in 1823. Now the only new info I have is on his son's marriage reg in 1861 he is listed as John Scott Seaman Coasting Trader (Deceased). I persume this means his boat traded along the shore - would that be coal? Other records list him as "Master Seaman". How can I find out more? Thanks in advance, Pam
