    3. Hi Lei if you go to www.rootsweb.com and look for the Liverpool list you will see that a lady called Muriel Davidson has been looking for DAVIS relatives with a link to a Lady Jane Mackenzie. Also try googling for MACKENZIE and SEAFORTH as I think this family has trading links I suspect - just a guess - that you are both looking at a similar area of research ie Mackenzies with trade links out of Liverpool, and of course Scottish connections. The jump from Dumfries and Galloway to Liverpool is an easy one, thanks to the many ships that plied the route. 3. I wonder whether the Murray family, about whom a recent question was raised, are the Murrays of Murraythwaite - in Cummertrees parish. In other words, not "of Dumfries", but of Cummertrees, Dumfriesshire. The Murray enclosure in Repentance Tower burial ground in the parish, has for example In memory of William Murray Esq of Murraythwaite and Mrs Elizabeth Dalrymple his wife who survived him many years and died on 11 December 1779 aged 79 years (Memorials in Annandale, March 1964) At the time of the 1841 census John Dalrymple Murray, aged about 40, was in residence (Cummertrees No.6 district). 3. Hello All, A further question. I have a relative who was born at the above address on 29 December 1889. As the Valuation Rolls indicate that the family did not stay at this address very long, I'm wondering if there might have been a lying-in hospital - or something similar - there in the late 1880s and early 1890s. Does anyone have any ideas? Jenny Gibson, Toowoomba, Australia

    3. I think it would be much more effective if complaints (combined with the deserved praise of the site) were from people all over the world, rather than just a few locals. Let the Council know how important this site is and how much you all value it. 3. Thanks to all who responded and confirmed that I was not the only one who had trouble reaching the site. The outages do seem to occur on weekends, and I have to also realize the time difference, so often it may be down at night in the U.K. If they are redesigning or updating the site, I suppose it is understandable. I check from time to time, and this morning (U.S. time) I was able to get through. Kathy Orlando, Florida

    3. I have a transcription of an old document of my GGGGgrandfather James Miller of Cambridge, Washington County, NY, saying that he was born in "Annandale, Scotland" in 1756. I believe that his father was a John Miller, and had an Uncle George Miller born in 1733. They immigrated about 1770 to upstate NY. I would be interested in any Millar or Miller family history from this area. Thanks, I appreciate any help. Mike
