I hope someone can help me with this. I have a conflict as to the parents of Althea Duckworth (maybe married first to ??? Justice) m. William Shuping Roper March 12, 1867 in Burke County. Died circa 1905 in Burke County. She is my 2nd great grandmother. Here are the two scenerios: Either: Alexander Duckworth b. Aug. 10, 1798 (Burke County), d. July 29, 1879 (Burke County) (he was Sheriff of Burke County from 1846-1850 and a Burke County Trustee 1849-50) and Nancy VanHorne b. May 11, 1803 (Burke County) d. June 7, 1878 (Burke County). They married 1818 in Burke County . Both buried Salem Methodist Church Cemetery) They had a daughter "Aletha" b. circa 1828. or Jonathon Duckworth b. 1793 (Va.), d. September 14, 1846 (Burke County), m. Lucinda Fox, b. 1805, d. Jan 18, 1866 (Burke County) (no marriage date)They had a daughter "Aletha" b. circa 1831.
