    3. Just wanted to make sure I knew what I was looking at because I have seen it both ways. No, most could not spell, they spelled by phoenics (sounding the word out) so spellings vary. You also have to remember some of these people had accents so their phonics are even harder. Always use a "sounded" search if you do not find in a search what you are looking for at first. I don't see him in my index (I checked by date, children and location). I there anything else you can tell me? Do you know the county? Where was he before and after? (So I can compare it to other family migrations to look for a similarity) Also what is your source for her birth? Sorry I couldn't be of "instant help".
