Mr. Wright, I am posting your message on the Duckworth message board and I wish I could help more. I did find two Charles Duckworths on familysearch.com that were in Lancashire, Both were one year old in the 1881 census. I tried a web search of the Lincolnshire Regiment and found the following website which you may already be aware of: http://www.1914-1918.net/index.htm which states that only 30% of enlisted records for the regiment are still in existence. Greetings, I am researching a Thomas Duckworth who married Jane Howland nee Croucher on the 1st April 1843 in Goulbourn NSW. I have a copy of the church record, which gives no family for this Thomas Duckworth, hence my brick wall, therefore I would like to make contact with any fellow researcher who may be able to help me. I have information for the children from this marriage who were: George b. 1844 Goulbourn. Rebecca b. 1849 Chippendale Sydney Thomas b. 1850 Chippendale ( my Line) b. 1850 . The early Church Records do not give any information as to where his father was born. Thank you Barbara / Queensland
Hi, Made lots of new discoveries recently and now find that all my Duckworth family originated in Rimington, Yorkshire. Would love to hear from anyone that has relatives from that area. Rimington, Downham, Waddington etc. I have also found that I have a link to Francis Duckworth the composer of the Hymn Tune "Rimington" and several other Hymns. His family moved to Colne, Lancashire as did his brother Caleb who became a Jam Manufacturer, and his other brother Joshua a Master Printer-Boookbinder. Other families have been found in Chatburn, Oswaldtwistle, Burnley, Church, Barnoldswick, Bury and Wigan to name but a few. My side comes from Thomas Henry born 1878 in Chatburn, which is just down the lane from Rimington, he and his brother Herbert left there and were to be found on the 1901 in Bury, Lancashire as Labourers for the Telegraph Company. I also have in my posession a letter from Tom Duckworth of Berkeley Vale, New South Wales, Australia. He is at the moment trying to trace anyone interested in the Bury Duckworths. He is stuck at the moment on James Duckworth who married Betty Wardle on 2nd December 1822 at St Mary's Church in Bury. If anyone has links to Tom he would love to hear from you at [email protected] Regards Mary

Hello, Having just subscribed to this Duckworth list, I was wondering if anyone had information regarding the family I am currently researching. I am looking for information regarding Duckworth's that lived in the St. Louis MO area at the time of the 1920 census. They were Alfred (shown as Albert in some places) and Maud (nee Parker of Canada) and their children Myrtle, Edna, Edith, Evelyn, Sarah and Walter. I have also found Maud and youngest child Sarah together in the same area in the 1930 census. I also know that Alfred died of 'sleeping sickness' and his absence in the 1930 census leads me to believe that this was between 1920 & 1930. I do have quite a bit of info on this family, but the one piece that is missing is the one I'm most curious about. I have been unable to find a married name for Sarah. She's a bit of a family mystery: My grandmother was her sister Edna, who told us that Sarah had murdered her husband and was sent to prison, but would not give us any more information. Edna has since passed away. If anyone has any information regarding Sarah, I'd love to have it. Also, I'd be happy to share what I have if anyone else is looking for this particular group of Duckworth's. Nancy
