There is a copyright issue with this book so any copies made can only be for private and personal use and cannot be made freely available on the internet. 3. In March 2000 a thread was posted on the Ancestry.com website by a James Duckett, who wrote:- "Does anyone have information and ancestry/lineage of James Duckett (born 1838 in Florence, Colorado) and/or Sarah Bush (born 17 Oct 1842 in Radstock, England). James died 23 Apr 1879 and Sarah died 10 Mar 1923." My cousin and I are now researching our part of the Bush family tree. Based upon the information that appears to fit quite well at this stage, Sarah Bush may be one and the same person. We are willing to share what details we have found.

I do not know if the matter was resolved and any family connection established between Bush and Duckett, but in my family there is a record of a Sarah Bush born 1842 Radstock Somerset. I do not know if she is the same one you were looking but I can tell you that this Sarah's mother was Elizabeth Bush born 1814. Sarah also had a younger brother, William Bush born 1846. 3. No, these Ducketts were the children of a different Jacob Duckett (1757-1810) and a different Sarah Odell (1755-1790).  This Jacob was the son of Jacob (1714) and Sarah (c.1718).  Jacob (1757) was thus the 1st cousin of Sarah (1755).  Jacob (1757) emigrated from Laurens Co., SC to Buncombe Co., NC c.1805.   -- Randy Jones >________________________________ > From: "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> >To: DUCKETT-L@rootsweb.com >Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2013 12:51 PM >Subject: Re: [DUCKETT] Thomas Duckett (1795/1800-1880) m. 1. Author: KRaichle6045 Surnames: Duckett, Jones Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.duckett/606.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thomas Duckett sells 45 acres of land in Buncombe Co., NC to Thomas Foster on 7 Dec 1825. Part of the description of this land shows it to have been the middle lot of a tract originally being the property of Jacob Duckett deceased, and having been allotted to Thomas Duckett as one of the legatees of Jacob Duckett deceased. The deed was witnessed by Joseph Duckett and James Duckett (brothers of Thomas) and recorded 21 Mar 1827. This appears to have been the only Thomas Duckett in Buncombe Co., NC. at the time. Ebed Jones, father of Sarah Jones who married Thomas Duckett, was a witness on land deeds for three of Jacob Duckett's sons around this same time. Ebed Jones Estate Papers, Bk.25, p.646, Buncombe Co., NC show legatees including Thomas Duckett & his wife Sarah of the County of Whitfield & State of Georgia in 1855. It appears to me that your Thomas Duckett is probably this same Thomas who was the son of Jacob Duckett (1748-1809) and Sarah Odell (1755-1818). This isn't my line, so I don't have a great deal more, but I would search more in Buncombe Co., NC for other documents that you might be able to use. Hope this might be useful to you.
