Alfred Rudolph Justice's 1929 book "Wilson & Allied Families" seems to have been discredited since no one in the DuBois listserve suggested any confidence in his long line ending with Chretien Maximillian (du Bois) des Fiennes, son of Charles Maximillian. His speculation that since the coats of arms used by Chretien du Bois of Wicres and CM des Fiennes were "almost the same" does not seem to have convinced anyone of a solid connection. I am pursuing a correspondence with <emily056@aol.com> who had earlier quoted a 1937 source (Rev. WT Williams) in which Francoise's father was given as simply "Chretien" b. 1597 d. <10 October 1655; mother Cornelia de Christien. This Chretien's father was Jacques or Louis or Wallerand de Bois des Finnes who mar. Madelein de Croix. Before that there was Antonio, Seigneur des Fiennes de la Bourse mar. Philipotte de Landas, Dame de Beaufermez. I have not had a response yet to my queries but Williams' work seems to be thorough and we must wait and see if there are contrary documented theories.
