Dear "ANOC" (Sorry, don't know your name...) James Porter DuBois has an earlier namesake, if memory serves. I don't remember Rueben, but but Porter runs in a couple of lines with researchers who have been on this list in the past. If they don't speak up soon, I'll comb through my notes for them. I have in the past transcribed obits for some of these folks. I believe the line I'm thinking of is ELISHA DUBOISE b. abt. 1830. And for the Elisha researchers, have you seen the will of JOHN PETER DUBOIS of Wilmington, NC? I am awaiting a transcript of it, but since I think at least one Elisha DuBois was from around that area, it would be interesting to view. He was a wealthy man, with property in NY as well as NC.
