Just to make it clear-- the John DuBose spoken of here was always a John DuBois, not duBose. He was the brother to my 8Xgrandfather. Again, somebody somewhere recorded or stated that he was a DuBose when he never was. So this was not a case of a Dubose who was not an Isaac descendant.
