Francis Richardson married Martha Gaulden and had numerous sons including John Gaulden Richardson who married Margaret Dubose. John Gaulden Richardson and Margaret Dubose had numerous sons, including Francis Dubose Richardson. Every generation of descendants from Francis Richardson has had at least one person bearing the name Francis. Francis Rivers Lelong, Jr. (7th generation descendant) F
Hi, Evelyn! I'm interested in the line of descendants which is meeting in Dilley. I am a descendant of John DuBose and Margaret DuBose Dick who settled in Gonzales in about 1840. Jarvis Miller
Hello Evelyn, Glad to hear from you. Always good to meet another cousin even if not in person. I hope you enjoy the reunion in Texas you will be going to. That's great! I wasn't even aware they had one there. Of course, seems like there are an awful lot of DuBoses, so there should be a lot of reunions going on all around. I certainly do hope that you will be able to attend our Mississippi reunion next year. While you are at your Texas reunion, maybe you will get a chance to meet a lady named Vera DuBose...or maybe you already know her. She is married to Donald DuBose, who is the son of Luther DuBose, who was my father's oldest brother. She is really into genealogy and has spent a lot of time working on our line, too. I have never had the chance to meet her, but have corresponded with her off and on for a few years. Anyway, I do hope you get a chance to meet her. I am also hoping your weather will be nice for the reunion. I notice Texas has been having a lot of heavy rain in some areas. We are looking for clear skies and very warm, might as well say hot, weather. Well, looking forward to hearing from you. Georgia DuBose Nagorka
Hi there in Mississipi I am a descendant, but will not be able to make the reunion. Hopefully, next year I can make it. There is scheduled a DuBose Reunion in Dilley, Texas, on June 3rd which I plan to attend. Hopefully, we can exchange some info at a later date. Hello cousins, I have been very quiet for a while, still recovering from the loss of my beloved father, Paul Burl DuBose, Sr., who died a year ago this past January. I did want to pass along this information about our Mississippi DuBose reunion in case anyone there is interested in attending or information on our line. This Saturday, June 3, 2000 at 10 a.m. will be our annual DuBose reunion for the descendants of David William DuBOSE b. 15 April 1818-20 unknown where born, d. 20 April 1902 Forrest Co., MS and Deborah Ann ROUSE b. 20 Dec. 1822 d. 19 Feb. 1901 MS The reunion will be held just outside of Hattiesburg, MS at the Dixie Community Civic Center located next door to the Dixie Community School. I believe the father of David William DuBOSE is a Henry DuBOSE b. 1790 NC, but I have no proof of this at this time. Perhaps someone out there would be able to help me out on this Henry DuBOSE. Children of David William DuBOSE and Deborah Ann Rouse are: David William Caroline Sarah Jane Burell (or Burwell) John B. Daniel R. Mary Clementine Sabra I know this is short notice, but if anyone would like to attend, we will all be looking forward to meeting you. Any DuBOSE is welcome, whether direct descendants or not, we may still be close cousins somewhere. Hoping to see you there...:o) Georgia DuBOSE NAGORKA

Posted on: The DuBose Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/DuBose?read=39 Surname: Gaulden ------------------------- I have written a book, volume one on the Gaulden family. Martha's parents were John Gaulden, who died during the American Revolution in Sumter, SC serving under Francis Marion. His father and grandfather were also named John. They came from England to Virginia and then to the Carolinas. Martha's mother was Susannah Brumfield. Her father, Watson, Brumfield signed the SC state declaration of Independence. Hope this helps.
I agree, thought I would get there but my plans often go awry. Please give a report my last DuBose was Hannah DuBose. Billie
Cousins The DuBose Reunion was a success.... records & information were shared, 1820 era maps were reviewed to locate homes of our ancestors, etc. Ross & Jim did a great job of getting this set-up, and I am sure they will provide more details. I enjoyed meeting other family members and swapping stories. If you were not there, you missed a great time, and you were missed. J. Allison DuBose

Betty: The John Dubose who married Susan Cantey was the son of Isaac IV. He was born on July 23, 1779. Susan died and he married Margaret Dick, a great-granddaughter of John and Mary Whilden. John and Margaret came to Texas in about 1840 and settled in Gonzales Co. Their son, James Lawrence, is my great grandfather. Cordially, Jarvis Miller PS: The information in Mrs. MacDowell's book with respect to our line is absolutely correct.

I do not have a Susan Canty in my files at all, and I have a *bunch* of Duboses. I have one child being born to John and Susannah, and then I have eight children being born to John and Mary Whilden. I am descended from Isaac through John's brother Stephen, so I haven't spent as much time on this John DuBose as on other lines. I *do* find keeping all of the John DuBoses straight, however, because there are so many. Betty DuBose Hamilton in Texas

Mary was born abt 1708 to John & Mary Whilden. This John DuBose was born abt 1706 to Isaac (the Immigrant) and Suzanne Couillandeau. In other words, I have Daniel & Elias's mother as Mary Whilden and not Susan Canty. John DuBose also married Susannah Lemonier in abt 1727; and they had Susannah Elizabeth DuBose born August 17, 1728 and she married Robert Lewis on December 08, 1746. The information I have is possibly incorrect, so I would appreciate anyone's help in correcting it. Thanks....
The John DuBose who married Susan Canty was the son of Isaac IV, b. July 23, 1779. After she died, he married Margaret DuBose Dick, a great-granddaughter of John DuBose and Mary Whilden. I am descended from their son, James Lawrence. Jarvis Miller
Hello Group, Please look at the family album that my brother has posted on his web site. We do not know the names of any of these family members, but the album was among my grandfather's (Charles Sidney DuBose) things when he died a number of years ago. My brother has placed the photos on his web site, hoping that someone will recognize the people through their own family photos. Picture #14 is particularly interesting to me. My gr gr grandfather Jeremiah DuBose was a twin to Zachariah DuBose. They had a younger brother, John, Jr. The other two siblings of that family were girls. I am wondering if the three in photo #14 are twins and John, Jr. If that's the case, some of the other photos of females could very well be their sisters, Mary and Magdalen. I hope someone else on this list may happen to have some identical photographs. Go to my web page and click on the Family Album link to view the pictures. Also, I am posting this message on several discussion groups, so you may receive more than one copy. Sorry! My web site address is <http://home.att.net/~bhamilt/wsb/index.html>. Thanks! Just spoke with Lois, & she did go by the Archives & leave the film. You can view it at the Clarendon County Archives, Manning, South Carolina. Hope you find something good in the book, & would love to hear from you if you do.
