She was born around 1826 in Cork County Ireland and died around 1907 probably in England (in Gatton Point, Surrey, England according to the 1871 and 1881 British Census. Mary married Nicholas Lambert 16 Nov 1852 at St Anne's Chapel, Mile End, Old Town, Whitechapel, Middlesex, England so she may have been there much longer. Nicholas was also born around 1826 and was a farm laborer. The couple had several children born between 1853 and 1869 (Mary, Ellen, James, Katherine, Nicholas, John, Margaret, Ann, and Joseph in that order) According to family lore, Mary "tended to the animals"----"would grab Nick (I'm assuming they mean Nick Junior) and put him in her lap"--"and could jump over a pig sty". Also according to the lore: Nicholas came from Dublin, County Cork, Skibereen--wed Mary and moved to England during the potato famine "because you couldn't get anywhere." He and wife lived in Surrey and leased 3 acres of land. Nicholas signed a 99 year lease subject to rates and taxes. He first built one room with a lean-to and had 9 children. If any of this rings a bell, please let me know.
