She was born December 29, 1944 in Erie, a daughter Jeanne L. Kaehly of Millcreek Manor, Erie and the late Edwin L. Buckner. Karen was a 1962 graduate of St. Vincent High School. She worked as an EKG/EEG pulmonary function technician for 15 years, was a floral designer, had worked several years in quality control and retired from GTE on March 30, 2003 after 9 years. Karen played piano, violin and viola in school orchestras and was active in church choirs and bell choir. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, reading, doing puzzles, going to casinos and loved her dog, Casey. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Daniel; three children, Stephen P. Peck (Jennifer), Todd D. Peck (Brenda) and Shannon L. Smith (fiancé Frank Holzhauser) ; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Stephen E. Buckner (Mary Jane); sister-in-law, Mary Jane Dyson (Leroy) of Tucson, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews. A! rrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road. A Memorial Service and burial for close friends will take place at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Soup Kitchen, 218 East 11th St., Erie, PA 16503.
