Baltimore was the stronghold of the Driscoll clan in Cork, and they hold the clan gathering there each June. Have you ever been? It's lots of fun, and we're going again this year. So maybe the Bible is referring to the Driscoll origin in general? Or perhaps the family hailed from there, as well. The only clues we've found to a more precise geographic origin in Cork have come from the DNA project. We're a pretty close match to a few other Driscolls who can trace their ancestors to the Bandon/Dunmanway area. I have found an 1822 (what we believe to be Timothy's birth year) baptism in both Bandon and Dunmanway that could match, so it's a definite possibility. I have lots of info that I haven't looked at in a while, so I'll see if I can come up with any references to a Dennis Driscoll in my papers. My Rootsweb tree is up at: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=tcmk1971 But I won't even give you the URL of the Ancestry one, as I just looked at it and it's really horribly outdated. I'll try to get a new and improved one up this week. Best, Tara Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
