Dear Joan, My 3 greats grandfather immigrated abt. 1790 and had a couple children born in Pa. before migrating on to Clark Co., Oh. John Driscol Sr. had three wives-Mary Aikin or Aikens, Mary Jones, and Rachel Kirkpatrick and 12 children. This is not the John Driskill who migrated to Ohio at about the same time and is of the Dennis Driskill line of Md. John Driscol Sr's. daughter, said her father was destined to become a priest and left Ireland to avoid that destiny. Three of John's sons began a carriage building factory in Springfield, Oh. Two of their vehicles are housed in a museum there. John Driscol Jr., born 1801, had two wives, Nancy Faris, and Eleanor Swan Lowery and a total of seven children. My great grandfather, David, was one of the twin sons born 1849. David died when my grandfather, Harry Edward, was very young. I have a lot of information on this Driscol line and would appreciate hearing from anyone who may be linked. Jeannine Driscoll-Eiesland ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joan L. Father - Daniel Driscoll Born - aprox 1810 County Cork Ireland Mother - Mary Ryan Born - aprox 1811 Ireland Daniel Driscoll born County Cork birth date aprox 1810. Married Mary Ryan born 1811 in Ireland. I don't know for sure if they were married in Ireland or met in the US. Daniel was an Engraver by trade. He showed up in Lockport NY in 1833. He and Mary Ryan were married and had a son named Timothy Driscoll who was born Lockport NY 1833. Daniel and family moved to Galena Illinois in 1836, acquired land and had 7 more children while living in Illinois: Cornelius born 1838, Bridget born 1840, Margaret born 1842, Mary born 1844, Ellen born 1847, and twins Elizabeth and Philips born 1849. Daniel died in 1852 on the way to California and it seems the family moved to St Louis. If anybody can place him in County Cork, find a ship he emigrated on, find information on Mary Ryan, their marriage or point me in a direction I would be thrilled. If you are related that would be fantastic. I have some decent information about the family from Galena to present day. My Driscolls migrated to California by way of Oregon and Washington. You can see a number of them on my web page - http://www.eladrin.com/Driscoll-Mcarthur/. After they entered California, they added surnames of Maitland, Sherrett, and Devoto. **Enjoy sheila
