Surnames: Driscoll, Sanger Classification: Marriage Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GhT.2ACIB/532 Message Board Post: Payette Independent Payette, Idaho June 11, 1925 Driscoll-Sanger At nine-thirty Wednesday morning, June 10th in St. James church, occurred the wedding of Edwin Utley Driscoll and Inez Belva Sanger. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Thos. Ashworth, rector of the church. The morning sun light flitting through the stained glass window into the rose decked church, made a fit setting for this June bride, who was charmingly gowned in delicately blended pink and white chiffon trimmed with silk shadow lace. With this she wore a black chiffon picture hat and carried pink roses. The bride’s sister, Miss Fairy Sanger, acted as bride’s maid. She wore pink georgette with a pink and grey hat. The groom was attended by the bride’s brother, Mr. Harry Sanger. Only close relatives of the contracting parties witnessed the impressive simple service. Immediately following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the bride’s home. The couple left the same day for Portland, where they will make their home. The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Sanger. She is a graduate of Payette High School and of the University of Idaho, and is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gama Sorority. Since her graduation she has taught music in the state deaf and dumb school at Gooding. The groom, who spent his early boyhood in Payette, is a graduate of the University of Washington, and a member of the Phi Delta Theta. He is engaged in business in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Driscoll, who is spite of their youth, are old timers in Payette and take with them into their new life the heartiest good wishes of a large number of friends.

A very particular place but the location is lost. Went to Scranton before moving west. I have tried to ascertain why he went to Scranton but w/o success. There may have been others "Driscolls" or people from his area that would explain his destination. Was there a Catholic Church, perhaps Holy Cross, in Scranton in the 1852-1855 time frame? I am looking for marriage and baptism records, if they are available.
