Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GhT.2ACIB/482.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I don't have any James Driscolls in my information. My Michael A Driscoll was born in September 1833 in Bantry, but not McMichael parish. His father was Cornelius Driscoll. Michael followed the Irish naming traditions for his children: Cornelius, Catherine, Ellen, Hanorah, Anna, Michael, Mary, Francis. It's possible Michael and your James were cousins. My researcher in Ireland says the parish records are in extremely poor condition and hard to read. She said it was not worth doing more research unless we were able to develop more clues from this side of the Atlantic. So far nothing, so we will all continue on digging.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GhT.2ACIB/482.1.1.1 Message Board Post: This may be TOTALLY unrelated, but I am researching my husband's (Lynch) family. They also lived in Bantry (parish, not town) and his great-grandfather's sister, Mary was married to a James Driscoll, b.1820 in McMichael parish. They immigrated sometime around 1860 (?) I am not sure WHERE they came into the country, but ended up in Cedar Co, Iowa, where there were other Lynchs. I do not have any other information about James Driscoll. Just thought there might be a connection, being as they came from the same area in Ireland. Do you have a "James" b. 1820 anywhere in your information? Thanks.

    2. Priscilla Haines
    3. I am looking for a Mary Anne Driscoll who married a Daniel Deasy, probably in Ireland. They had two children that I know of. One wa a Catholic nun who went by the name of Sister Baptista. The other was my grandmother, Catherine Deasy. Catherine migrated to Boston, MA, USA by 1898 where she was a waitress in Boston. She was born 28 Jan 1872 probably in Dublin. Her father was a sea captain and ran his boat along the coast of France where Catherine sometimes went with him. That is ALL I know about the family. Any help would be appreciated.
