Hi Donna, I have not done the same amout of work as you have yet, my Driscolls are in Adelaide SA and going back the name Sheriff & Mountpherson but will keep you in mind if I find a link to US regards and many thanks Deirdre
My Driscolls are from Jersey shore area. Tuckerton is located just off shore. I'm not sure when or where they came ashore, but believe it was prior to 1880. My grgrandmother was Susanna Ella Driscoll b. 1837 Little Egg Harbor Twp, Burlington Co NJ, m. Rsrael R Gaskill. Her father, my grgrgrandfather was Edward Driscall (Driscoll) b. 1807 d. 1880 buried in Tuckerton NJ, m. Susannah Gale. His father was Cornelius Driscall(driscoll) m Hester. I know there were connections in Phila Pa area, but have no info on who. I only know of 3 daughters and 1 son (of whom I don't have the name), siblings of my grgrandmother Susanna Ella Driscoll. Any of the above sound possible connections. I do have names of Edward Driscall & Susannah Gale numerous children if you think they are a possible connection. Donna
Am looking for Driscoll family from around Philadelphia and spotted your Tuckerton area. I live in N J and wondered if your Tuckerton is near the Jersey Shore? If so, I am seeking iformation on Driscoll's from the Main Line area, Drexel Hill, Ardmore area. If so, I'll be happy to compare notes. Mine came to Norristown, Pa by 1880. All I have is her marriage certificate and the names of her children. They were Mary b. 1853, Ellen 17 Oct. 1854, James 11 Aug 1856, Catherine 24 Apr 1858, Nicholas 9 Mar 1862, John 29 Mar 1862, Margaret 31 Dec 1863, Annie 1866/67, Patrick, and Joseph 25 April 1869. All of the children were born in Surrey, England. The first five in Merstham and the last five in Gatton Point. Mary, the daughter, married George Dowsett, Ellen married Patrick Henry Sullivan, James married Mary Ann Donovan, Catherine married Thomas Flavin, John married Eva Drywood, Annie married George Kiernan, Joseph married Edith Ford. I don't have spouses for Margaret or a Patrick which seems to be a son but I can't track him. Mary's husband Nicholas went by Lumbird after first emmigrating to England but the name was later changed back to Lambert. The address on Nicholas' death certificate was Gatton Park Road, Redhill. I know from Mary's marriage certificate that her father was Daniel and that he'd passed away by the time she married Nicholas in 1852. I'm afraid that's all I know other than a little family lore that says that Mary tended the animals and could jump over a pigsty. :-) Hope we are connected. I'm dying to find out more about Mary and her family.
