    3. Phyllis, I do not have any information on the information that you are seeking regarding the Doyle Families in Canada , Nova Scotia. My sympathy goes out to you about your failing eyesight! I also have bad eyesight from glaucoma, but can see fairly good in one eye still. I would like to pose a question to you about the Doyle's of Nova Scotia, hoping that in your searches you might have came across what I am looking for. I have an old unsourced document report on the Doyle's, Martin Doyle born 1810-1820 in Ireland and Nancy McCormick Doyle, his wife, born abt 1821 in Ireland also. The report indicates that both Martin and Nancy landed together in Nova Scotia in 1843. That is all the information I have on them while they were in Canada. Two or three Sons were born to them while they were in Canada, A James abt 1842, A Timothy abt 1844 and possibly a John in 1845. I have no information of where they lived in Canada between 1843 to about 1855. Shortly after 1850+, Martin, Nancy and the boys moved to Chesterfield, Essex County, New York, USA (on the Canadian Border), where Martin's Wife Nancy died after 1855. And Martin Remarried a Catherine McCrea, who was also from Ireland. If you do happen to have any information on this Martin Doyle, I would welcome it. Martin's Father was Michael Doyle (in Ireland) and Mother was "Maggie" (also in Ireland). The Descendant List is: Michael Doyle, Martin Doyle, Thomas Doyle, James Doyle, Harry Doyle and Dudley Doyle (that is me). All from Essex County New York. Thank You All!! Dud Doyle, Mt Gilead, NC (Retired). ----- Original Message ----- From: <barry.mcneill@sympatico.ca> To: <DOYLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2006 10:37 AM Subject: [DOYLE] Doyle New Brunswick, Nova Scotia Canada > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Doyle, Dillon, McCullough,McNeill, Bent > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IcT.2ACIB/2026 > > Message Board Post: > > Since there seems to be some Canadian questions being asked I thought I > would take a chance and post what I know about the Doyles, hoping that > someone may have a connection. > Edward John Joseph Doyle was Hired by John Heavyside, lumber merchant in > St.John, New Brunswick, Canada to go to Digby Co., Nova Scotia, Canada > to cut lumber.
