Hi List! I broke out a big chunk of brick from my Doyle wall, and, with new names in hand, thought I'd post some of them in case there's anyone in Genie-land with a connection. I'd once speculated that my great-grandfather John J. Doyle's (b. 1864) parents were William and Mary Doyle of Pittston PA. I'd received word from a Doyle cousin (first cousin to my mom) about the William and Mary Doyle family that confirmed my speculation. However, there were some discrepancies: From the 1880 US Census out of Pittston, PA, this Doyle family consisted of: JOHN, PETER, JAMES, MARY ANN, WILLIAM, AND ANASTASIA. The outline from 1978 given to my cousin listed Wm & Mary's children as: JOHN, MARGARET, PETER, WILLIAM, ALICE, JIM, JOHANNA, FRANCIS, AND MAME. I have copies of John and Margaret's (Marg. born 1867) birth records from Birkenhead, England. I have no idea where Margaret was after that, but apparently she grew up to marry a Conroy and had 2 children that died in childhood. I also had no idea who Anastasia and Mame were, why they weren't on the outline given to my cousin (Ana) or Census records (Mame) , or anything else. Last night, after remembering Mame Tighe was listed as being in Chicago, I found some obits for the children listed on the outline for Mame. Then I found Mame's obit. Under Mary Doyle TIGHE (it was known she married a Tighe and her children's names. WOOOHOO. Everything adds up to indicate that Mame = Mary Ann, right down to her birth year (1875). I'm not going to post any names for this TIGHE line that I believe could still be alive, but the following are the obits for Edward and Mary Tighe's children: FRANCIS A. TIGHE, DIED 1979 in CHICAGO. Wife: Evely MOHR Tighe, died bef. 1972. MARIE C. TIGHE DIED Oct. 1961 in Chicago. Husband: Thomas J. EMERSON, died bef 1961. Daugter married a DONALD MURPHY, who died in Nov. of 1963, son of Margaret and Joseph MURPHY. JOHN J. TIGHE, DIED Jan. 1967 in Chicago. HAROLD W. TIGHE, DIED July 1959 in Chicago.
