I just recently was able to visit NY after 15 years so I took the time to locate some information about my family I couldn't do through the mail or online. One of which included going to Calvary Cemetery in Woodside. There I located the plot belonging to my ancestors, one of which was Margaret Maggie" Doyle. Her husband, Thomas Hanrahan, made a memorial for her and listed her as "native of Tallamstown County Louth". I got home and discovered it must have been Tallanstown. I do not have much information about Maggie but am hoping maybe someone is researching the Doyle's from the area. Margaret Doyle was born about 1850-1851. She was 29 in the 1880 census and 30 at the time of her death in February of 1881 so it might narrow down my search to June 1850 to February 1851. For some reason Thomas put her age as 28 on the tombstone but she is 30 on her death record and the interment list at Calvary. She came to the US in about 1870-1871 and settled in Manhattan where she married Thomas Hanrahan in 1873. They filed a delayed marriage record that I just located the information on where to obtain it. At least 2 of their children were born in Manhattan. They moved to Brooklyn in 1877 according to the death certificate of Thomas Hanrahan. Thomas and Maggie had 4 children that I know of: John, born about 1874, married Lucy (last name unknown), and died in 1904 supposedly childless. Mary (my great-great-grandmother), born 1875-1876, married Robert Macken/Mackin 1901, died 1956. She is the only one of Thomas and Maggie's children who had heirs. Theresa, born 1878, died 1880 Margaret, no other information is know about her. She died at 10 months old but I have no birth or death dates. When Maggie died she was originally buried in the plot of John Raferty/Rafferty at Calvary along with her daughter's Theresa and Margaret. Due to the fact the daughter Margaret has a burial date of 1884 I did not believe she was Maggie's daughter. The tombstone says otherwise (lists "and her daughter's Theresa and Margaret") and I now believe she was moved to the Raferty plot from another location to be near her mother. I checked Griffith's valuation for Tallanstown in 1854 and found only 2 in the Tallanstown parish. Both Patrick and both living in Lisrenny townland. Sincerely, Rachel Mackin Evans
