Primrose. His death certificate records his birthplace as Detroit, Mich. and parents as Wm Doyle and Nellie Primrose. Most everything I know of him is very vague. Other than his second marriage record and death certificate, I've never located any records of him, his parents, first marriage, or his children from the first marriage. I've never even been able to find him on any censuses from 1880-1920. Can't help you with facts, but all this seems logical. HE was most likely the one who filled out the marriage license, so the information is probably more accurate. Someone else filled out the death cert, so it is second-hand info. Ann or Annie was probably his mom's given name, and Nellie her nickname. As for census lists, IF he didn't fall through the cracks by perhaps not having a permanent home somewhere, how would you even know where to look just in case some census taker had gotten his info while he was in a town and not traveling on census day(s)? That would be like shooting a moving target that you didn't even know was out there. Ruthie
