My Ancestors were from upstate New York. My Great Great Grandfather was also a Martin Doyle born in Ireland between 1802 and 1820. According to his Death Certificate his father was named Michael Doyle and his Mother was "Maggie". Martin Doyle first came to Canada about 1840 with his wife Nancy McCormick, where three sons were born, John, Timothy and Thomas. Martin and his family then moved to Chesterfield, Essex County, New York between 1845 and 1850 where he and his family remained about the rest of his life. Would be very happy to hear from anyone who has further information on this Doyle family and in particular if there is a possibility that Martin Doyle has a brother in Sherburne New York, Chenango County. Dud Doyle. ----- Original Message ----- From: <KEVIN6083@aol.com> To: <DOYLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 21, 2005 5:24 PM Subject: [DOYLE] Re: Patrick and Ellen Doyle > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IcT.2ACIB/1959.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Did your Doyle relatives settle in or around Sherburne, NY in Chenango > County? Nope--wrong Denis, I think. We think we have Denis and his mother traveling on one of the ship lists but no siblings. For an Irishman, it seems odd not to have 6 or 7 siblings. My ancestors settled in NYC--lower Manhattan--Dennis or Denis Doyle married Mary Boshell in 1865. I have information on all childrren except what happened to Roger Doyle the first child...He is around for awhile and then disappears. My sister thinks she has found some Boshells that are related but has no connecting document. Any Boshells out there? Mary listed Dublin as her port of departure but we think she might have just said that. Bogert is another name with lots of relatives now living in NJ. Harriett Doyle Auger
Linda, Do you have a John Doyle b. ca 1792 in MD in your file. He settled in Fleming Co. Ky and married Martha Jane (Patsy) Cord. In the 1870 census of Fleming Co., Ky. he was living with his son but a Joseph Doyle also b. MD ca 1798 was living next door. I have hit a stonewall in my search for this family. Jack Dayton
